Rebekka Ryan & Mette Molich

Djurslands Jazzfestival 2026 and Pavillonen present Rebekka Ryan & Mette Molich Duo consisting of dancer/choreographer Mette Molich and pianist/composer Rebecca Ryan Thomsen moves in a dynamic conversation between body, dance and music. This dialogue is the door to a new --- or ancient --- poetic language, which perhaps is the same as what the blackbirds, the sea and the animals speak.

An articulation of space, presence and states.

The working process: Through dance and music, Mette and Rebecca explore the meeting between the unconscious and the physical space --- in attentiveness to each other and what emerges in the space. States become navigation, dreams become maps.

On stage, the audience is not met with a fixed form, but with the results of this artistic process in motion. Mette Molich Rimestad Is trained as a dancer and choreographer at EDDC (European Dance Development Centre).

She works with the connection between dance, music and consciousness --- in improvisations, in choreographic works, in cross-artistic contexts and teaching. Rebecca Ryan Thomsen Is a pianist and composer, trained at Southern Danish Music Conservatory.

Her music lies in the tension field between jazz, improvisation and completely newly composed avant-garde. She often works across genres with among others poets, dancers, ceramicists and visual artists.
