Concerts and live music in Stavanger
The Stavanger Konserthus (Sandvigå 1, stavanger-konserthus.no), on the harbour at Bjergsted, is home to the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra and takes touring pop and rock in its larger hall. Folken (Løkkeveien 24), the student house, has bands most weeks, and Checkpoint Charlie on Lars Hertervigs gate is the rock club; arena tours play the DNB Arena and, in summer, the stadium.
Stavanger nightlife: Vågen and the Fargegata
The bars are around the old harbour, Vågen, and along Øvre Holmegate, the Fargegata, a painted street of cafés and bars a block behind it; Skagen has the clubs.
