About the event
From the organiser, as published on Ticketmaster.
FATHER CHRISTMAS IS FATHER TO ALL THE CHILDREN After sold-out performances, audience laughter and acclaim from both critics and audiences during 2024/2025 at Cirkus in Stockholm, the stage hit Father Christmas is Father to All the Children now returns to selected venues across Sweden. When the beloved cult film from 1999 took to the stage for the first time in 2024, a completely new Swedish Christmas tradition was created.
On stage, audiences followed the now legendary Christmas Eve where Sara invites her three ex-husbands and their new families to celebrate Christmas together with her reluctant partner Janne. What was supposed to be an idyllic family celebration quickly develops into explosive chaos where old relationships, secrets and conflicts come to a head in front of the Christmas tree.
Director Rikard Bergqvist transformed the film's cult narrative into a stage production filled with high pace, physical comedy, musical numbers and an ensemble in absolute top form. Critics described the result as a laugh-fest at breakneck speed where the audience's initial hesitation quickly turned into roaring laughter.
The premiere in Stockholm in November 2024 was the starting shot of a box office success. The production played to full houses, was acclaimed by the evening press and continued to grow in popularity during 2025 -- where it was among other things awarded "Production of the Year" at the Swedish Comedy Awards.
The hysterically funny, lovingly chaotic and completely unpredictable Christmas Eve returns in 2026 with some of Sweden's most beloved actors. Meet Liv Mjönäs, Linus Wahlgren, Eva Röse, Jakob Setterberg, Fredrik Hallgren, Clara Henry, Magnus Betnér, Julia Dufvenius, Inez Dahl Torhaug, Anton Lundqvist & Eva Rexed.
Together they create a Christmas production where doors slam, secrets are revealed and laughter is never far away.
One thing is for sure: No one celebrates Christmas like the family in Father Christmas is Father to All the Children.
