About The Hu
The Hu is a Mongolian folk metal band formed in 2016 in Ulaanbaatar that blends traditional instrumentation with heavy metal. Their sound incorporates the morin khuur, tovshuur and throat singing alongside electric guitars, creating what they call hunnu rock, named after the ancient Xiongnu empire. The band sings in Mongolian, weaving old war cries and traditional poetry into their expansive sonic palette.
