FINAL CURTAIN -- A COMIC WORK OF GRIEF Marie Göranzon and Krister Henriksson are two of Sweden's greatest giants in acting and have given us a string of outstanding performances over recent decades, both separately and together. Their collaboration has been seen several times before, most recently in the Dramaten production of "Miss Julie" in 2023.
In spring 2026, they finally met on stage again in the brand new play "Final Curtain -- A Comic Work of Grief", written and directed by Henrik Schyffert. The production has been received with open arms by both audiences and critics. "Göranzon and Henriksson are real thoroughbreds" and "funny, drastic and not a little cheeky", writes Expressen, whilst Svenska Dagbladet notes "Two different giants electrify the stage.".
After 36 sold-out performances at Scalateatern in Stockholm, they are now taking the successful production on a Swedish tour! On 3-5 September, Final Curtain comes to Rival in Stockholm!
Three of Sweden's most influential cultural figures come together in the unique theatre project "Final Curtain -- A Comic Work of Grief". Marie Göranzon and Krister Henriksson are two of our most experienced and longest-established voices in Swedish theatre.
They have deep roots in the Dramaten halls but branches and twigs in both film, TV and the hearts of the people. In "Final Curtain -- A Comic Work of Grief" the two friends meet on stage in a completely new personal play by Henrik Schyffert, which deals with life, theatre and relationships.
With humour and seriousness, the two friends dissect how their lives have actually been, on and around the stage. When have you actually finished playing? -- In this production we talk about things and events we have never previously raised, there is something very liberating in it, says Marie Göranzon.
In the production we get to be there when Marie and Krister wait in a box to promote the play "Final Curtain" in a popular TV programme. The audience gets to follow the conversation and witness the personal meeting between the two
