About Russian Circles
Russian Circles is an American instrumental post-metal band based in Chicago, Illinois. Originally formed by childhood friends Mike Sullivan and Dave Turncrantz, the group was completed by bassist Brian Cook after their initial lineup changed. The band takes its name from an ice hockey drill exercise, a sport both Sullivan and Turncrantz played growing up in St. Louis. Russian Circles has achieved widespread recognition through critically acclaimed albums and extensive international touring.
