TOUR PREMIERE AT THE PORTALEN Pil announces album and major autumn tour -- and pours her heart out on 'The Cycle' Pil, who has just been announced as this year's opening act on Roskilde Festival's Orange Scene, and who will soon appear on screen in the TV2 hit series Toppen af Poppen, has good news today. With the new single 'The Cycle' she is also announcing a brand new album, to be released before summer, plus a major album tour in the autumn, taking her around the entire country.

A song you can both cry to and sing along with On 27 March the single 'The Cycle' from Pil's forthcoming album was released -- a song that both invites sing-alongs and offers release from some of the feelings we can all be hit by. "'The Cycle' is about having to admit that you've fallen in love. It's one of the most vulnerable situations you can find yourself in, because what if it's not returned?

I wrote the song from a very specific situation, where I was supposed to go on a date at Assistens Cemetery in Copenhagen -- he came walking towards me with his bicycle, and I remember thinking 'wow, I'm just completely mad about him'," says Pil. 'The Cycle' is also a song about finding yourself in another person.

In the chorus it goes: / Will you / Will you stay here until everyone else has gone / Just a bit longer / "It's frightening to have to reveal your feelings in a situation like that, where it feels like everything is at stake. You're looking for a person you can disappear into, and who can ease the emptiness you feel inside.

If the feelings are returned, you can relax your shoulders, maybe cry a little out of pure relief and otherwise just enjoy that you've found a person you can merge with. That's what the song is about too," she continues.

New album and extensive autumn tour 'The Cycle' is the third single from Pil's forthcoming album, to be released before summer 2026.
