The punk poet laureate comes home to New Jersey for a night of songs and stories. A true renaissance woman, Patti Smith immense influence has saturated literature, music, visual arts, politics and global culture for over 50 years.

She has written dozens of books, including National Book Award winner Just Kids. Her seminal album, 1975 Horses, was inducted into both the GRAMMY Hall of Fame and the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress.

Her countless honors include Frances Legion dHonneur, Swedens Polar Prize, and the PEN Literary Service Award. Part of the Dodge Poetry Festival

About Patti Smith

Patti Smith is an American singer, songwriter, poet and author born in 1946. Her 1975 debut album Horses established her as a key figure in the New York City punk rock movement, earning her the nicknames Queen of Punk and Godmother of Punk. Smith has built her career on fusing rock and poetry, creating a distinctive artistic voice. Her 1978 song Because the Night, co-written with Bruce Springsteen, became her most widely known track, reaching number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number five on the UK Singles Chart.
