Homofil Homofob

A personal, funny and sharp theatre monologue On 16 October 2025, the bishops in the Norwegian Church issued an apology for their treatment of LGBTQ+ people. And that's all well and good, but reconciliation requires dialogue, and we want to be part of this dialogue.

We invite you to our beloved Cafescene. There we will create an intimate atmosphere that facilitates a discussion about sexuality – free from rigid positions and written rules.

In HOMOSEXUAL HOMOPHOBE, actor Karl-Vidar Lende shares his own life story; about the journey out of a Christian inner mission as a gay man and the comparable experience of rejection in the urban gay community. He can slip right into homophobic thinking, with his gay heart intact, and he can dance into the night and embrace the gay club's underworld with Christian conservative values in his back pocket.

HOMOSEXUAL HOMOPHOBE is a theatre monologue where both gay opponents, young gay men, deeply religious people and everyone else can be seen, heard and made fun of. The performance plays in the space between the congregation's worldview and a glittery queer community that celebrates sexuality and diversity.

It is personal, funny and sharp about faith, identity and belonging. We use theatre as a way out of echo chambers and create a performance that encourages discussion and exchange of views with high ceilings, as a theatrical reconciliation project – in full swing and in all seriousness.

The performance is produced in collaboration with The National Theatre, Trøndelag Theatre and Rogaland Theatre.
