About Fruit Bats
Fruit Bats is an American indie rock band formed in 1997 in Chicago, Illinois, centred around the vision of singer and songwriter Eric D. Johnson. As the project's sole permanent member, Johnson has shaped the band's sound through various studio and live incarnations, bringing in different musicians to realize his creative direction. The band's indie rock approach has developed across numerous releases, with Johnson's songwriting remaining at the heart of their evolving aesthetic. Their music combines thoughtful composition with an accessible indie sensibility that has resonated across their career.
