Lecture with Daniel Rye - From captivity to trial - How I learned to live with my trauma Don't miss this opportunity when Daniel Rye tells his whole story for the first time. In this new lecture, Daniel speaks about his time in Syria, the subsequent freedom and reflections on how it affects him today.
Daniel's lecture is an incredible story about survival and making the best out of the worst. "From prison cell to trial - how I learned to live with my trauma" is a lecture that takes you into all the considerations Daniel has had over the last 12 years. From when he is kidnapped in 2013 - to when he is left with a family, a well-functioning mind and an incredible, yet very relevant story.
What has Daniel learned from his experiences and what happens to a person when they are subjected to abuse and become a victim? Guilt, shame and everyone else's opinions cannot continue to weigh like a heavy blanket when you have a new life to be enjoyed and lived.
At a time when poor wellbeing and fear fill many headlines, Daniel's story can be a hopeful and thought-provoking contribution to an at times dark period.
About Daniel Rye: Daniel Rye is kidnapped in 2013, tortured and attempts to take his own life in captivity. Broken as a person and 13 months later he is released as a hostage and can subsequently follow how his friends and former fellow hostages are executed before the eyes of the whole world.
The previously unknown terrorist organisation is suddenly on everyone's lips. No matter where Daniel looks, he is confronted with his worst trauma.
With a feeling of guilt over abandoning his fellow hostages and the 15 million kroner that the terrorist organisation received for Daniel's life, a new struggle to survive begins. Daniel quickly begins to use the same tools in freedom as he used in captivity.
Daniel chooses to actively use his story in an attempt to find his way back to an ordinary everyday life. At the same time as Daniel gives lectures about his time in Syria and
