About the event

From the organiser, as published on Ticketmaster.

FINANCE by and with Greig / Gulliksen / Svedman / Thorbjørnsen These are difficult times -- but theatre has rarely been more fun. Welcome to -- a sharp, playful and surprisingly recognisable production based on Martin Svedman's poetry collection.

This is not just a story about redundancies and broken career dreams -- it is a sideways look at a working life we all know, full of absurd turns, hope, falls and a good dose of dark humour. We meet a world of severance packages, reorganisations and eternal "temporary" solutions.

But amid all this, something both comic and touching emerges: the people trying to make it work. We follow consultants and managers on their way up -- and down -- in a Norway where systems are updated faster than the people who are supposed to use them.

From slightly too quiet offices in the regions to sterile meeting rooms somewhere in the world, the production moves through landscapes that feel both close and strangely foreign. gives voice to those we rarely listen to on stage: the salespeople, the accountants, the laid off.

And perhaps most importantly: This is not a story about people who don't fit in. It is a story about people trying to function in a system that doesn't. is made by an interdisciplinary theatre group consisting of actor Per Bogstad Gulliksen, author Martin Svedman, set designer Bård Lie Thorbjørnsen and visual artist Bertil Greging.

The theatre group has previously explored addiction and human pitfalls in the production -- now they turn their gaze towards perhaps our time's greatest collective illusion: the belief that effort always pays off.
