About Fat Freddy's Drop
Fat Freddy's Drop are a New Zealand seven-piece band formed in Wellington in 1999, blending dub, reggae, soul, jazz, rhythm and blues, and techno into their distinctive sound. Originally a jam band, the musicians gradually made Fat Freddy's Drop their primary focus whilst maintaining involvement with other Wellington groups. The band are renowned for their improvised live performances, with studio recordings representing refined versions of songs developed through years of playing across New Zealand and internationally.
