The concert will be a celebration of one of Danish music's most prominent and versatile singer-songwriters—an artist who over five decades has written songs that have deeply embedded themselves in Danish consciousness. From "Snowberries and chestnuts", "Sooner or later", "Tell me you like me", "Native American", "Use and be used" to "I have laid down my weapons", Anne Dorte Michelsen has created songs that encompass the intimate, the socially critical and the poetic.
Her catalogue ranges from generation songs and pop classics to sharp contemporary satires such as "Handyman", "A happy family" and "There's always something for a housewife to do". The anniversary concert brings together the great, enduring communal songs and the more intimate moments, where Anne Dorte Michelsen's particular eye for relationships, contemporary times and human frailty is clear.
There is both humour, bite, warmth and the thoughtfulness that has made her songs relevant across generations. Audiences can look forward to a concert where both the big hits and the quiet songs will unfold.
