Synopsis: "Souls of Purgatory" is a contemporary dance piece that fuses traditional Mexican music with a narrative inspired by Dante's journey through the underworld. Through Sinaloan corridos and cardenche, the work tells the story of a tormented soul, trapped in a limbo of sadness and longing for redemption.
Each dance step and musical note evoke the cultural richness of Mexico, intertwining the Day of the Dead tradition with the search for forgiveness and light. The piece invites the audience on a deep emotional journey, where dance and music become bridges between the world of the living and the world of the dead.
