Andersson Dance - ORE

ORE tar Örjan Andersson's starting point in the landscape and nature to reflect on mankind's relationship with its surroundings and the changes it undergoes. Drawing inspiration from the Romantic artists -- Caspar David Friedrich, J.M.W.

Turner and Eugène Delacroix -- the gaze is directed towards both nature's grandeur and mankind's impact on it. Through sound artist, field recorder and composer BJ Nilsen's recordings, the work travels between vastly different environments: from the evocative mountain landscapes of Alpe Djouan to the dark mine tunnels in the Kirkenes mountain massif, where dust, stone and industry characterise both landscape and living conditions.

Here mining is in full operation with a completely colourless world. The dust hangs heavy and only different monochromatic tones of grey and black are visible over the mine workers' footprints.

In set designer and lighting designer Chrisander Brun's realisation, these environments are transformed into artificial landscapes and spaces where new narratives can take shape.
