About World Party

World Party was a Welsh and English musical group formed in 1985 by Karl Wallinger, a songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist who had previously been with the Waterboys. Operating primarily as Wallinger's solo project, the band brought together various musicians over its three-decade run, including Guy Chambers, David Catlin-Birch, future Oasis drummer Chris Sharrock, Jeff Trott, Amanda Kramer and John Turnbull. The group remained active until 2015, with Wallinger as its sole consistent creative force throughout its history.
