About The Mountain Goats

The Mountain Goats are an American indie folk band formed in Claremont, California, by singer-songwriter John Darnielle. Since 2003, the band has been based in Durham, North Carolina. For many years, Darnielle was the sole member despite the plural name, though he has collaborated with various musicians including bassist Peter Hughes, drummer Jon Wurster, guitarist Kaki King and multi-instrumentalist Annie Clark. He remains the core creative force driving the band's distinctive sound.
