Otello Music by Giuseppe Verdi | Libretto by Arrigo Boito Live broadcast: April 24, 2027, 11:00 (Mexico City) Based on Shakespeare's tragedy Otello, Verdi's opera revolutionised Italian opera through its theatrical intensity and musical sophistication. The work narrates how the noble general Otello, consumed by jealousy following the manipulations of the ruthless Iago, ends up destroying Desdemona, the woman he loves.
The striking production is by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher, with the spectacular set design by Es Devlin, one of today's most important visual creators. Brian Jagde and Ailyn Pérez perform in the principal roles.
