About the event
From the organiser, as published on Ticketmaster.
Flamenco was born on the margins: persecuted Romani people, sailors on the Atlantic, voices that sang in slums and shantytowns what they could not say. Today we seek that rhythm on other edges: the undocumented immigrant, the refugee, the searching mother, the sex worker, the Argentine gaucho, the Japanese hikikomori, the Latin American street dweller.
We dance on the edge, searching for traces of what is profound in marginality, dignifying the pariah figures that remind us of the value of diversity and the rawness of the struggle to survive in societies that turn their backs on the different.
