What to expect
Atlanta Opera presents Tosca is an opera show at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center, 8.3 mi from the center of Atlanta. It is a good pick for a night at the theater. Doors open at 18:00, so arriving a little early gets you settled before it starts at 19:30. If you want to make a night of it, 3 other events are on in Atlanta the same day.
About the event
From the organizer, as published on Ticketmaster.
Tosca is a pulse-pounding thriller of love, loyalty, and lethal power. When fiery diva Floria Tosca and her lover, the idealistic painter Mario Cavaradossi, are blackmailed by the ruthless police chief Scarpia, devotion is tested against tyranny and desire curdles into obsession.
As political intrigue tightens its grip, the drama hurtles toward moments of breathtaking intensity?where faith, art, and love stand against oppression. Last produced by The Atlanta Opera in 2013, this ?shabby little shocker? presents the most evil villain and the most noble heroine in all opera in a brilliant new production.
