Ella Mai is a British R&B singer and songwriter born in 1994. She began her musical journey at London's British and Irish Modern Music Institute in 2014, and later auditioned as part of a trio on The X Factor. Her debut EP, Troubled, released in 2015, caught the attention of American record producer DJ Mustard, who signed her to his label 10 Summers Records under Interscope Records. Mai has established herself as a significant voice in contemporary R&B.
